‘Hastkala Setu Yojana’ Initiative: Empowering Indian Artisans
Asha Handicrafts Association was honoured to take part in the ‘Hastkala Setu Yojana’ a Government of Gujarat project supported through Commissionerate of Cottage and Rural Industries, implemented by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India-EDII, Ahmedabad.
The primary aim of this initiative was to create successful grassroots entrepreneurs, primarily focusing on traditional arts and crafts. Mr. Rajesh Kumar -CEO represented Asha Handicrafts Association supporting this cause to uplift the crafts and craftsman from the Kutch region.
Hastkala Setu Yojana brought exquisite Indian handicraft products under one roof, aiming to show the unique creativity and skill of the craftsmen thereby creating an appreciation diligence
It also provided a platform to increase the visibility of Indian handicrafts allowing direct interactions between the artisans and buyers.
This is the 1st innovative project organised to transform rural entrepreneurship that will ultimately reach out to the youths and artisans communities in the villages. Above all this will also create employment opportunities and livelihood options with the new enterprises introduced.
Asha’s commitment to the preservation and promotion of Indian handicrafts across the globe enables us to partner and stand united with the efforts being made to improve the livelihood of Indian artisans with like-minded organizations.
